About Neyveli - National Power Training Institute

Neyveli is the largest well-planned Township in Asia. It is a unique large Township owned and maintained by the Lignite giant Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited.

N.L.C.Ltd. is one of the Navaratna Public Sector Companies in India. There are two open cast Lignite Mines, mining 24 million tonnes of lignite per annum and two Thermal Power Stations with a combined capacity of 2490 MW of N.L.C.Limited at Neyveli. Further 500MW of Generating units are now being added. Also there is an IPP (ST-CMS) Thermal Power Plant of 250MW Capacity very close to Neyveli.

Within 200 Km. radius a number of Atomic/Thermal power Plants are located. Some of them are

The availability of all variant types of power Generation nearby provides a congenial atmosphere for training in power sector at Neyveli.

The residential area of the township alone extends over 50 square Kms. In spite of large open cast Mines and TPS the Township is having a very excellent green belt with neat and wide roads.. Neyveli town ship offers the ambience of an ideal living environment facilities like cinema theatre, worship places, sport stadiums, a 320-bed hospital with modern amenities and shopping complexes. The environment is very pleasant for the visitors.
